No news is no news....

One of these days I will keep this blog up to date. Don't hold your breath.

News: Emili is in another play. She has the role of Witch in the next Kidstage production of Into the Woods. It is a major role...some productions treat it as the lead even though the play is pretty much an ensemble piece. Two of the Broadway productions I know of have saved the role for the marquee name in the cast (e.g. Bernadette Peters and Vanessa Williams) The rest of those casts were much less well known.

Midori is in Chicago for training this week. Right after Thanksgiving she will be going to Tokyo to be with her mother while she undergoes some surgery. Needless to say I will be pretty busy with work and doing all the driving duties to get Emili to all her rehearsals, math tutoring, Karate....etc.

I have moved from AT&T to Drugstore.com. More on that later...now I have to go pick up Emili from her voice lessons. Such is the life of the father of a diva.

Same day..later at home.

Working at AT&T was a lot of fun for a while. In fact, my current job at Drugstore.com was sort of floated my way a while ago. My boss moved there and once he was settled in, he started looking for a test manager and gave me a call. At the time I had just been promoted to Manager at AT&T and was enjoying it. The people were great and I was able to run the team the way I saw fit and got a lot of support from my management and all the folks on the development and business side of the world. Then my group was transferred out of the department and we became part of a more traditional IT structure where process and politics came together to form a vortex of mediocrity. I didn't like feeling like I was keeping one step ahead of the gears of the machine so when my old boss was looking for a new test manager again for Drugstore.com I went for it. So far I am enjoying it, and I hope that the chaos of the place doesn't wear me out. I will keep you posted.
